戦後派の中堅メーカー、日本電子工業の高一の4球再生式受信機。通常左端におかれることが多い電源トランスがシャーシの右端にあり、スピーカと高周波増幅間が接近し、整流管の隣に検波管があるという奇妙な配置になっている。このため、アンテナ線とスピーカコードがほとんど同じ位置から出ている。これでは問題が発生しただろう。同社はラジオの技術に乏しかったらしく、他の製品にも合理性を欠く配置が良く見られる。
このモデルは、同じ型番で2つのモデルが確認されている。戦前の面影を残すデザインの初期型は、旧型のNB-40型の銘板を鉛筆で訂正している。こちらのモデルには型式試験合格章がない。工数がかかる割に古臭いデザインは大型の横行ダイヤルを備えたシンプルな形に改められ、時代に合ったものになった。シャーシの基本的なレイアウトは変わらないが、手作り然とした電源トランスが標準的な形になった。デザインは近代的になったが、ダイヤルが戦前の並四のように周波数目盛がなく、スケールのみというのも同社の特徴である。
Two models of this model have been confirmed with the same model number.
The early model, which retains the remnants of the prewar period, is a
pencil correction of the old NB-40 nameplate. This model does not have
a type test pass label. Although it takes a lot of man-hours, the old-fashioned
design has been changed to a simple shape with a large traverse dial, and
it has become suitable for the times. The basic layout of the chassis hasn't
changed, but a handmade power transformer has become the standard type.
Although the design has become modern, the company is also characterized
by the fact that the dial does not have a frequency scale like the prewar
set, and only the scale.
